Studies have shown the number of people making charitable contributions has been on a steady decline over the last two decades. Today, just over 50% of all American households give compared to 66% of households in 2002. While there are multiple factors contributing to this trend, one important reason is the lack of experience and confidence many development professionals and nonprofit leaders have related to cultivating and soliciting individual donors.
The Coaching Circles are designed to provide executive directors, board members and fundraising staff the opportunity to develop their own approach to individual and major giving. Over the course of six months, participants will work with the Excelsior Bay Group coach to a) develop tailored cultivation strategies for their major and mid-level donors, b) prepare for and assess donor interactions and solicitations and c) learn how to build and sustain high performing individual giving programs.
